Hi,

I'm spending July interrail from Berlin and eastwards. Does anyone have any tips on where I should go? I'm currently thinking Prague, Vienna, Zagreb, Skopje, Bucharest - anywhere else?

Also, let me know if anyone is in the area at the same time. I'm nice!

Cheers, Jens

How long have you got in total, where have you already been, and most importantly...what kind of places are you interested in?

Two-three weeks. I have been to Prague and Budapest. I like historic cities, not too big and no village either. I guess water/sea would be nice, considering it's mid-summer.

Yes, a time frame and your interests will help you to get better advice.

Subject to that, Berlin- Dresden - Prague - Vienna - Budapest would be a good start. Skopje is a bit far and disconnected from this cluster, however.

Wouldn't you rather go to somewhere that you haven't already been? Perhaps Start further south instead? If you are going to Vienna then don't miss Bratislava. You could also consider Ljubljana and Split.

You're right. I'm hoping to keep a flexible itinerary though, but it might be best to skip Prague. Thanks!

Thanks for the great reply. You've made some good points considering the lenght of time and prices. I guess my interrail pass will pay off better westwards. Thanks for the tips as well.

I guess my post was meant for people who know great places to visit, anywhere in Europe. But since I've never been so much in the east I am more curious about that place.
