Croatian Ancestors

Country forums / Eastern Europe & the Caucasus / Croatia

I will be travelling through Europe later this year (from New Zealand) and I would like to visit Croatia. I know that some of my ancestors were Croatian and I'd like to do a bit of research before I go. Does anyone know of any good Croatian geneology resources?

Thanks

Boy, with the history of Croatia, I would imagine it would help a whole lot to know some city names before you start your search. Do you know much about the specific part of Croatia they came from?

Either way, you'll have a grand time. It is a stunning country with a lot to offer. The three main cities I visited were Zagreb, Split, and Dubrovnik, along with some islands and the coastal ship from Split to Dubrovnik. Plan on a few weeks if you like, you'll find plenty to do there no matter what your interests.
