We will be a group of 6 people in Moscow and St. Petersburg for 10 days. While there, we will have a driver and van for some of the time and a guide just for our group for almost all of the time; one guide in Moscow and one guide in St. Petersburg. What would be the expected and reasonable amount to tip the driver and our group guide, on behalf of the 6 of us, if anything?
Thank you,
Susan
I'm worried that there may be some problem in terms of getting my Russian visa, which has been provided as a worker's visa. Though the invitaion is in Russian, the dates for the visa are May 20, 08 to June 5, 08. There is a number 017 and at the bottom YoMC 226 and below the seal IIBC-2 1461427. Can any of you help to see if there are any likely problems. This should be a worker's visa so that I can teach and get paid. My Russain friend said that this was better than either the business…
Perhaps two months ago, I saw a reference to a web site where you could avoid long lines and pre-book a ticket to get into the Kremlin and the Armory. Didn't have much time right then, but briefly checked it out. Tried a search of the posts here, but can't find the link now. I'd appreciate your help if you can point me in the right direction. I have about one week to finish the planning stages for my trip, and then I'll be off! Thanks for your assistance.
not sure how to get round this one!!!
i have been living in asia for a few years and now its time to go home, i plan to go through china, mongolia and russia back to england
china visa can be acquired in bangkok, Mongolia visa in Beijing ( i think this is right?)

Hi.
Myself and a friend are thinking about travelling from Vladivostok to Ulan Ude and onto Mongolia by train in July. After a bit of time in Mongolia, we would like to re-enter Russia and travel onwards on the Trans-Siberian to Moscow. Total time travelling through Russia and Mongolia, about 6-7 weeks.
some questions spring to mind:
What type of visa should we get? I think it's a double-entry 90 day business visa we need - if certain internet postings are reliable, trying to get a…
Hi
I plan a trip to Ural, Volga or South Russia (still pondering about which city to choose, yet Krasnodar is n°1 on the list) and look for apartment rentals possibilities. For a one-month stay I can't afford an hotel, and as I need privacy hostels or shared apartments can't be a choice also.
Any tip or recommended site for accommodation in Ufa, Kazan, Volgograd, or Krasnodar ?
Thanks in advance for any reply.
I will be flying from London to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan via Moscow next month. My layover on the outbound leg is in Moscow (SVO), before a red-eye to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan (I believe I need a Russian transit visa for this segment). When returning from Bishkek, I spaced out my flight so that I will have two days in Moscow, before flying back to London. I need some help figuring out whether I need a Russian transit visa or a Russian tourist visa, or a combination of the two for my two entries into…
HI All,
Am looking into working in Russia and have came across an english teaching position in Nizhnevartovsk......
Can't seem to find much information on the net about living/working there. Any one with any info please drop a line!

I am from the United States and I am planning on travelling to Russia this summer. I was filling out the visa application and I see that they have a question about whether you were ever arrested or convicted of any offense. About six years ago, I was received a DUI. I believe that this was just a violation, so does not really count as an arrest or criminal conviction.
Does anyone know if this is something that should be entered on the application? And if so, if this is something that would lead…
