Hello.
I have read thousands of posts on internet regarding to registration , migration cards etc... But i dont have the ideas clear.

First of all, its responsability of the host (hotel or person) to register you , BUT , is possible to be registered by a local friend in his house if you are In a tourist visa ? Is it worth ? I mean , i heard about someone who registered for one night to have registration and never registered again during a 1 month trip without problem.

Thanks , hope that someone will be able to give me an accurate reply

Yeah, I got registered by hotels for every night. Except for one, and because of that I ran into massive problems with the police (i.e. they tried to extract a bribe). Probably one bad experience, but it happens.

Probably it depends of who stops you and your attitude

I will try to tell you what i know from my point of view.
Hotels and hostels have responsibility to register all the foreigners that stay no matter how long they stay but in reality not every place you are staying can actually do it.
Any russian friend you are staying with can register you on the adress that is stated in his passport or providing the documents on the property he's renting.
You, as a foreign tourist, should register first in 7 days after arrival. And then you have 7 days each time you are changing the city or place you are staying.
I met tourists that registered only once as if they stayed all the time in one place for long period.
I met guys that registered from time to time)
I rarely met guys that didn't register at all - they probably payed a fine but probablly not)
But surely if they were suddenly stopped on the street with wrong registration that could cause problems and bribes.

So my reccomendation - to check if the property you are staying can register you and do it for your own safety. For example 3 days in the first stay - than a break for 7 days, register in new place, again a break for 7 days and so on.

I also heard that if you show the tickets that prove that you didnt stay in one place for more that 3 days than you shouldnt be registered anywhere on your way.
