G'day,
We're arriving in St Petersburg from Helsinki by train. Would anyone know of a website that has a map of the Finlandski Railway Station that shows where it is in relation to the St Petersburg Metro Line?Just trying to work out how to get from here to our hotel at Vasileostrovskaya.
Thanks
Wallabi

The metro is downstairs from the Finlyansky Vokzol(train station) and it is one the Red metro line, the oldest and most attractive stations are on that line. Exchange some money so you can buy the 17 Ruble Zhaton (metal token used by the turnstiles that allow access to the long escalators going down to the platform). If you do not know the Cyrillic alphabet, look on the signs for destination stations and get on the train that has the longest list of destinations which is the one heading south. Get off on the second stop, which is Vosstanya Station. It is pretty so take a look around before going to the floor just above the one you arrived on. In the center area of the platform is a short escalator that takes you to the second floor, which has tracks running across the direction of the Red Line. This second line is the Green Line. Get on the train with the signs listing few stations(west) and ride that until second stop. Get off and head up the escalator and you are "home" That is Vasileostrovskaya Station. Your hotel is probably on the next street to the northwest, Bolshoy Prospekt. From start to finish the trip should be about 15 minutes
