Thank you very much for your detailed very helpful informations! Lyubov was at first surprised, how we would know that she can do the registration for the altai republic.

We left her a copy of our passport and the migration card. The other day in the morning we could pick up our registration at her office. We even didn't had to go on ourselfs to the OVIR office. She was so kind an went there for us.

Here the detailed contact informations:
„Aguna“ Tourism Hunting Fishing
649000 Russia
Republic Altai
Gorno-Altaisk p/b 83
Tel/Fax: (38822) 2-24-13
email: aguna@mail.gorny.ru, Lyubov.Samaeva@yandex.ru

The border crossing at tashanta itself was easy done within 2 hours (with our own car).

Hello, this is a really informative thread! Myself and 3 others are planning to enter Mongolia via Tashanta this June. Hitching a ride from Kosh Agach to the border sounds fairly simple but am wondering what implications being a group of 4 has on this. How many vehicles/ how much traffic was at Kosh Agach when you were there? Splitting up is an option...but of course sticking together would be more desirable!

Any information on this would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Sam
