Hi, my wife and I arrive on a night flight from Japan in early October. At this stage , we are not able to get any Roubles befoe we arrive. Does anyone know whether it is possible to exchange $-Roubles at the Vladivostok airport ?, or whether we can get some in Japan before we take the flight.?
Any commets are very welcome,thanks.
Jim.

Hi there Jim,
I get the feeling you’re more likely to receive some answers over on our ‘Russia’ branch, so I’m going to move your thread over there at the same time as I post this response.
(Incidentally, if you still don’t have any joy, you might also try reposting your question on the ‘Japan’ branch in case there are any knowledgeable souls lurking over there instead. Best of luck either way!)

.....or worst to worst you can use debit / credit card on A T M
airports should have ATM and you can take money out
and you change next day or may not change at all
There are ATMs and exchange points in airports in russia. Vladivostok`s airport is really new, built in 2014 AFAIR. Must have everything needed. Id say - get a few roubles at the airport, just to pay taxi and then change whatever you need in the city in a regular bank. You need passport if your exchange sum exceeds 10 000 roubles.
Passport is needed for 15000+ RUR deals. A good point on exchange only limited amount at the airport for the rate is better in the city.
Cheers - Igor
