My destination will be Novokuznetsk ... I would like to avail Trans-Siberian Train #3 from Beijing ...Is Tayga nearest station to my destination ? I have heard that I have to purchase ticket up to Moscow though I will get down at Tayga and I don't have any plan for Moscow in this trip. Is it true that I can't buy ticket for any mid station on Trans-Siberain Train ? What will be the approximate train fare ?

You don't need to buy a ticket all the way to Moscow, but I am pretty sure that you will need to buy a ticket at least to Krasnoyarsk to board the #3. Since Krasnoyarsk is east on Taiga you should not have a problem. Hopefully you understand that these international tickets are NOT sold at the train station to foreigners and you need to either order it through a travel agent or through CITS.

While Taiga might be a few kilometers closer to Novokuznetsk, you are likely to find more trains from Novosibirsk. (430 km from Taiga to Novokuznetsk and 447 from Novosbirsk)

Also from Taiga to Novokuznetsk there are only local trains taking ~10 hours and only one per day, while from Novosibirsk there are several trains including some fast trains which take 6-8 hours.

CITS - Chinese International Travel Service or there are some other agencies that sell the tickets but foreigners apparently cannot buy them at the train station or maybe they can't buy them at the train station until the last minute at which time they are almost always sold out. But if you look at the LP and elsewhere, everything indicates that international tickets must be purchased through CITS or an agency.
