Hi,
Would be arriving in Russia soon.
Can someone please tell me about some centrally located ( nearer to the tourist attractions)
Decent budget hotels ( around $ 50/ $60 ) in Moscow and St petersburg.
Thank you.

Many years ago I stayed at the Cosmos in Moscow. It was built by a French company for the 1980 Olympics. It's huge, with multiple restaurants, and while it's not in the heart of downtown, it's right in front of the VDNKh Metro station which is a short ride to the Red Square, Arbat, etc. VDNKh itself has the big Russian expo and trade center, which may have seen beter days but it still has a lot of meaning and is worth a visit. The Cosmos may not have all the latest bells & whistles but looks like it's a great deal (around $50 in booking sites), I would take it gladly.
In St. Petersburg I stayed at the Pribaltiskaya, another huge hotel of the 80s. But it's not that well located, it's fine if you don't mind taking combinations of buses and trains, but if you're looking for centrally located I would pass on it.
