My husband and I are spending 5 days in Romania, from October 22nd to October 26th. We intend to spend two days in Cluj and another two in Brasov, using these towns as a base to explore the surrounding area. We are hoping to have some great landscape photo-ops, and a taste of rural life.
I have a couple of questions:
We'd like to do one day trip from Cluj to Turda Gorge/Apuseni National Park and the Ice Caves/Huedin. Which of these places is the easiest to do by public…
would anyone have an idea o the cost of a sleeper wagon from Alba Iulia to Budapest? Or a fare from Brasov for example would be useful. I`m in Viseu de Sus at the moment but hope to leave tonight. No ATM at nearby station so hoping to have enough cash when i get there. Alternatively, would they accept Credit Card at Alba Iulia? Thanks in advance of any responses.

So I'm currently living in Central Europe and have a week's holiday, so am considering heading for 4-5 days in Romania (the flights are so cheap!) Does anyone have any tips of what to see and do, where to stay etc? I'm thinking of flying into Bucharest on the 1st November and maybe travelling around a bit - I don't know Romania at all, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, can anyone confirm is there is still a direct bus / minibus from Suceava in Romania to Chisinau in Moldova?
I can find references on various websites to a daily 06:30 bus but nothing particularly up to date.
I will be travelling this route on Sunday 25 November. If it isn't still running, what are my options to reach Chisinau?

the festival is October 12th through 14th this year. Can anyone verify that these are the correct dates? If so, do most people base themselves in Cluj Napoca, or somewhere closer to the festival itself? Ideally I'd like to be there for the duration. Any other advice or…

On my way to celebrate Christmas and New Year in Beirut I want to pass through Romania Bulgaria and Turkey. I have a flight from Dublin to Bucharest on the 17th of December. Here are my concerns.

Have drawn up an approximate route and prebooked some accommodation but would appreciate any advice on availability of Pensions / Homestays in some of the more rural locations.
