I am planing to stay couple nights in Iasi in September or October. I checked LP book and Hostelworld. It costs more than $25 per ngiht for one person. I think that is lots of money in Romania. Do any one know any cheap place to stay in Iasi?

i'm leaving Romania to Budapest. in Ukraine instead of taking a direct train, it was considerably cheaper to take a train to the border, then a short bus over the border, then a train the rest of the way. does this apply to Romania?
Hello! During my travels this summer, I will need to take a train from Brasov to Istanbul. I know that such a route exists (with only one change), and I have found many train websites (mainly websites for other surrounding countries) that show this route and the schedule, but that cannot sell me the ticket. Heading for Romania early July for the first time so could use some advise.
The plan is to fly into Bucharest, then go by train to Transylvania to go riding near Sighisoara. To soak in some culture, I will have the choice to spent 4 days in 3 places:
Bucharest, Brasov and Sighisoara.

Question. I've got relatives in a small farm community in Curia...(sp?) which is right outside of Iasi. Now...is it easy to convince the cab drivers from Iasi's airport to turn on the meter? And on the off chance that someone here is from that area...how much would it cost. Do people still use the 'Lei" or has everyone switched to the Euro. Cheers

Hello, I am going to Romania early July with my 9-y-old girl and a 16-y-old boy. Would appreciate some advise on places to go. We love nature (mountains, caves, etc.), and history. I do not know how easy (or difficult) it would be to rent a car and stay in rented homes - as we do in western Europe. Also, I am not sure if it is possible to visit the caves with the girl. Thanks for the help.
