Dear all,

we want to make a bike tour through Romania and Moldova in Summer 2009 and will have to use trains from time to time. Do you know whether and how it is possible to take bicycles on Romanian trains?

More specifically, do you know about international trains going from Romania to Hungary and Austria where it is possible to travel with bicycles? I find contradicting information on the official websites of the rail networks and in the travel guides like Lonely Planet!

2. Is there any overnight bus / train from Plovidivic to Varna?

3. How is the transport connection if I want to go to Brasov from Ruse within one day?

4. I am interested to go to Korprivshifta from Sofia / Plovidvic. Which one has a more convient transport connection?

I am planning a trip to Romania in late August, early September: thinking of flying into Bucharest, rent a car from eurocars.ro, travel the country for about 10 days and then take the train from Arad or Timisoara to Budapest and fly back home (US) from there. The other option might be to fly Wizz air from Tg Mures to Bud. Anyone else used eurocars.ro before? Any info on their reputation? How about Wizz air? i have also heard that some parts of the sea/coast can be quite polluted, are there any particular spots that should be avoided because of this?

I'm on holiday in Romania in the last two weeks in July; I have already paid for my accomodation and train tickets. How much spending money do you think I'll need? My spending my will mainly be for meals. My itinerary is as follows:
7 nights in Brasov,
5 nights in Mamaia,
2 nights in Bucharest.

we are thinking of going from Brasov towards the Apuseni nature reserve and then further north to maramures. What are the best ways of getting around especially trains as we ll have an interrail pass but other means of transport too. Also how long will journeys take? Plus any good places to stay that you have liked and that are not too expensive. Our kids are 5 and 7.

Does anyone have any info on how busy things are in Sinaia in december, given that it's the start of the ski season. I'll be passing through for a couple of days and am wondering if I'll have much trouble finding cheapish accommodation, or if I should try to book ahead.

I've got to get from Bistrita in Romania to Budapest this summer and am trying to figure out the cheapest way to get there. Any ideas? In particular does anyone happen to know how much a train ticket from Bistrita to Budapest would be? I realise there wouldn't be a direct train, but I can't seem to even find a rough estimate of a price anywhere!

I would be travelling alone to Romania soon & I have a few questions that need some help.
1. How many hours to cross border from Chernivtsi, Ukraine to Suceava train station in Romania?
2. Is the information about trains timetable accurate in infofer.ro? And ticket availability (because I cant book online & I'm worried of getting a ticket on the spot)?
