Hi,
I'm heading to Bucharest for work next week, and I was wondering if anyone knows a hip & trendy cocktailbar over there? Something modern, loungy if you will? I'll be staying at the Double Tree in Sector 3, so if the place is nearby that's a plus, but not a necessity.
Also, are there any restaurant recommendations?

Hotel Continental bar. 4* (of sorts), cheap compared to many places in Europe, good seating and prices, great fun and a fantastic menu for drinks and food. It's cocktails are superb.
You're probably best off taking a bus or taxi from the Double Tree to Piati Unirii and heading into Lipscani from there. The distance is walkable, but its probably about 20 minutes on foot. Taxi shouldn't be more than 5 or 6 RON. Lipscani has far and away the best choice of nightlife. Bordello's, CocktailsLAB, and Van Gogh are all good for cocktails and a lounge vibe.
For restaurants Caru' cu Bere, and La Ceanu' Crapat have great traditional Romanian food, and Simbio is good choice for more modern 'foodie' stuff (if you can get a table - its a tiny place).
