Hey,

I am flying into Bucharest from Heathrow, arriving around 2 pm.( USA>Heathrow>Bucharest ).

I would like to go from the airport to the train station and then get a train to Brasov.

I am having trouble with the rail schedule sight, maybe cause I am blonde.

How often do trains to Brasov run in the late afternoon/early evening?

What's the best way to get from the airport to the train station?

Thanks!

Hi.
From the airport there is a coach plus train service directly to the Bucharest North train station. The train is called Henri Coanda expres. The whole coach + train trip costs 6lei = 1.2E.
Another possibility is express bus 780, from the Arrivals terminal, to the Bucharest North train station. The cost of 2 trips is 7 lei = 1.7E.
Both services run quite fairly and take almost 1h.
Bucharest North is the main train station of the city.

You can check train timetables between Bucharest and Brasov on infofer.ro (click on the UK flag on the upper right side of the screen for the version in English and write Bucuresti Nord in the "From" field).

There are about 10 trains to Brasov after the time of your arrival, approximatively one every hour until 9.30PM.

If you finish the various arrival formalities by 3PM, use the above mentioned bus+train combination (it leaves once per hour, in this case at approx. 3.05PM); if not, take the 780 bus.

Hello. I'm flying to Bucharest tomorrow from Germany, and then taking the train on Monday to Brasov; will probably stay there until Friday morning. Let me know if you want to grab a coffee. As far as train schedules, I think the train to Brasov from Bucharest leaves every hour but I'm not sure how late it runs. I will have have to check my Lonely Planet book and then I'll give you an answer. ~Todd

Until 9.30PM (9.33PM to be exact).

Why? There are at least three Romanian train timetable sites (and they're actually up to date).
