I'm leaving Berlin tomorrow and missing out on the big inaguration party there. Is there anywhere I can watch the event in Wroclaw? If not, I'll have to try to convince a bar owner to change the channel from football to CNN or BBC.

I'd say your best bet would be one of the Irish pubs beside the Rynek (main square)...there's also an English bar on the square as well...bound to be an interest in it from the ex-pat community...

I just tried cruising the pubs in the square. The TVs aren't even on.

I just ended up watching it at the hostel. It was interesting to see what other nationalities thought. I was the only American. There were a couple of British, one French, a couple of Germans and about 10 Polish. Everyone except the Polish were interested. The Polish instead just talked loudly amongst themselves. The Germans and British guys tried asking the Polish guys to keep it down so they could hear the speech. Finally, one of the Polish guys walked over and said "What is this?" and then grabbed the remote and changed the channel to music videos. American hip hop by the way, the mainstay of what is shown in most hostels.

That's disappointing, to say the least...particularly as the old saw goes that Chicago is really the biggest city in Poland with so many ex-pats...you'd expect at least some awareness there...

I'm wondering which hostel are you in?...'The Stranger', perhaps?...if so, what's it like ???

What a shame I didn't see this earlier. There's an American owned restaurant/bar in a medieval tower in Wroclaw that has the best Mexican food in town and the owner has shown NFL games, U.S. election night coverage etc. It's called Abrams' Tower.
