What hiking/trekking options would we have for April? (can't go any later unfortunately). I've read that Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park should be walkable all year round but the National Park website says it can be closed until May. Anybody got experience of this area in April or recommendations for other walks to do at that time of year. Thanks in advance.

Buses : in locket 18 in the train station of Tbilisi (metro Vakzal) tickets are sold to the bus going straight between Tbilisi-Moscow, a ticket costs 50 lari, 48 hours traveling. The bus leaves on saturdays and sundays at 11:00 phone 993522. This bus is the cheapest way of getting to russia from Georgia.

I'm considering a week in Georgia later this month. Does the election result impact travel in the country in any way? Also, I can't locate any road maps for the region. Can someone let me know where to find maps for Georgia and/or the region?

_------ A horrible night in Georgia
After coming by bus from Tbilisi I was very tired and wanted to rest in a hotel . But I have probably chosen the wrong hotel. From the outside nothing unusual. A little park opposite, small shops around. But as there was a bar beside the hotel, it should have drawn my attention.
The room was very shabby, but the Georgian landlady was nice enough and I was too tired to look for a better place.
It was very noisy from the park opposite. Shouting and sreaming which…

Hii, me and a friend stayed in a village called Mazeri, it's a 30 minute drive from mestia and is off the main tourist route, there's amazing
hikes there, including a 4700m summit called ushba and it's possible to trek from mazeri to Mestia. we stayed in a guesthouse with a guy named Soso, he and his family were very friendly and helpful! his number is +995-56-58-20.

There were various warnings regarding possible unrest and violent clashes after parliamentary elections.

So I thought that it would be good to provide an update from Georgia and to confirm that there are no tensions and no signs of any kind of violence. On the contrary, people are very happy and positive for having been able to make a free choice and to defend their vote.

Therefore: welcome to Georgia! :)

I really wanted to guage what his life would be like whilst he's there, how would the general lifestyle be for a 24 year old American? What is the entertainment and sociall scene like? The food, living conditions etc... If you have some experience of living in Tibilisi (or are a local who can understand the contrast between the Georgian…
