There's marshutska aveilable from Mestia to Ushguli. Many times daily as long as road is not damaged by rain. 2 and half hours. You can hire mini van (up to 7 passengers) or jeep (up to 4 passengers). 180 -200 lari per a car.

In Mestia, I'm staying at Roza Shukvani's Geusthouse. Excellent tasty meals (5 breakfast, 15 dinner), spotless clean rooms (20 lari per person). highly recommended.

1. We're wanting to go to Mestia. What time do the first marshrutkas leave Tbilisi?

2. Camping in the National Parks.
   we're planning to do some trekking in Borjomi national park or others. I understand we can hire tends, mats and sleeping bags, but wanted to check that they're reasonable quality for the weather. We're thinking of taking sleeping bags and mats and hiring a tent. Any thoughts?

I've read somewhere that there is a bus from Kutaisi airport to Batumi (and one to Tbilisi) but I cannot find any information about it.

Does somebody know if such a bus does indeed exist and, if it does, what is the schedule? Or, if not, is there a bus from the airport to the main bus station (where I could then take a bus to Batumi)?

Hi, in a few days we will go to Tusheti . We wonder if it is possible to do some multi day treks without a guide and with the possibility to stay at guesthouses, we have no tent. Best for us would be a trekking starting and finishing in omalo.

The next nine days we'll have to cross from Iran to Tbilisi to take a fly and we want to visit something in Armenia and in Georgia. What do you advise? which places are more interesting to visit and how long we should spend? It's easy to find some places to sleep for backpackers? And if we want to visit some church far from the cities are there any public transport or we'll must take a taxi?

And how is the currency in Armenia and in Georgia? Are there any black market to change?

We're interested in doing the Mestia - Ushguli trek. Do you need maps and a tent for this trek? We arrive in Tbilisi on Saturday and understand the camping shop is closed till Monday so is there anywhere else we could get a map and camping gas if we need it. Also is the gas of the Camping Gaz type that you puncture the canister?

I'm hoping to visit Georgia in October. It looks like I can fly to Kutaisi or Tbilisi. First of all I would like to visit Ushguli in Svaneti. What is the best way to do this from Kitaisi airport or Tbilisi? Do I need to go via Mestia, or is it possible to take public transport or hire a driver in Kitaisi or Tbilisi? If so, is this easy to do, and does anyone have any idea how much it will cost?

Especially, i'm looking for a local guide because I heard it is impossible to do this trek without a guide.
