I'm going to Tusheti this weekend for 3-4 days, and we'll be using Omalo as our base. I don't think we'll be planning to stay the night in any of the other villages, so I was wondering what hikes/walks can be done in a day? I've seen people say you can do Omalo-Diklo (stopping in Shenakho on the way) in a day, since the walk apparently takes 2 hours one way. I'm guessing Dartlo won't be possible (apparently this takes a whole day to get to). Renting a horse really isn't an option for me, since I'm on a budget and I have just enough to get to Omalo and back, plus accommodation and food. My work won't pay me till after the 20th so I have to make my money stretch far.

Thanks in advance for any tips!

So I guess I better forget about Dartlo then :(

You'd need to stay overnight in Dartlo I am afraid. It's not impossible though - leave most of your stuff in Omalo, take a small rucksack with a change of clothing and food and you're off for a beautiful 2 day hike.

Hmmm, very tempting. I'll see if I can convince my friends to do that. Otherwise I'll just have to make do with the surroundings in Omalo. Thanks for the tips!

If anything else fails, they'll get conviced by the landscapes when they arrive in Tusheti :)
