Hi all,

I'm deciding on my 2012, two week holiday, and 1 of the countries that we would like to visit in Czech Republic. We are planning to go end of September. Now we aren't going to drive, so we will be relying on public transport/trains. We like landscapes, museums, and nice attractions. Those 2 weeks I want to divide them into 2 or 3 base locations, 1 of them should be Prague. I was thinking of flying to Vienna and take a train to Brno and then start from there...what do you suggest…

We're up for some bars, clubs and then maybe a bit of culture during the daytime. Rough Guide describes Brno as "Prague without the tourists or the high prices" - if thats the case it sounds ideal! Views please . . .

Hello! My partner and I will be in Prague around 23/11, either for one night or two, depending on how the rest of our trip is going. Given that this is going to be a pretty quick trip, we're looking for advice as to what neighborhood we should consider staying in (we like quaint b&bs and inns, nothing big). We're in our early 30s and are looking for great food, good drinks -- just a low-key good time. We plan on seeing a few of the main sites (it's our first time in the city) so we need to be…

I'll be flying into Frankfurt at the end of December, and staying one night before heading onto Prague for New Years. I see on the Bahn website that the savings fare for this trip is 49 euros. I am wondering if this is the normal price, as in can I walk up on the day and time I want to travel and get a ticket at the same price? Or does the price go up and should I book ahead of time to get the cheapest price? Considering this trip to Prague is just before New Years, should I pre-purchase a…

HI guys,

Thinking about doing Prague and Budapest over the holiday period.

We are thinking of doing Prague during xmas for the christmas markets as we are from Australia and want to experience a white Christmas and then budapest since we've been told that its a really cool and fun place for NYE.

So 24-28th Prague then 29-1st Budapest.

Will this be enough time to experience each city? I have read some previous threads regarding these two cities however they were not during the holiday period.

Hi all,

I'm planning to travel to Szklarska Poreba on the Czech/Polish border during the Christmas season. I plan to arrive in Prague airport in the early morning of Thursday 29th December.
How can I get to Szklarska Poreba from Prague airport? Do I have to connect in Prague city centre, or can I travel direct? Will there be buses in normal service during this time? How much are the buses?

Is it better to fly to another airport?

Thanks in advance :)

Hi,
We are planning to attend a conference in Prague in early March and were considering spending a week or so skiing beforehand somewhere in central Europe. I don't know anything about skiing in the Czech Republic, but am willing to consider it.My husband and i are are intermediate/advanced alpine skiers and would like a relaxed resort where we could have a bit of downtime that's not too difficult to get to without a car.Any suggestions? I've had a bit of a look on google but really have no…

Best currency to take

Hi there,

I live in Switzerland and since the Swiss Franc is very strong now I wonder if they can get changed easily into Czech money in Prague or is it better to take Euros (in cash). I just want to avoid changing twice from SF to Euros and then from Euros into Czech currency. I'm only going for a weekend so just want to take cash.

Thanks for your advices.

Wintering in Prague?

looking into some information regarding winter tourism is Prague, mainly around New Years. Being a major city i wouldn't assume its going to be a ghost town but for a twenty something traveling solo is there fun to be had?

I should mention that I plan on sticking around for a few days ( at least 3 but no more than a week)

thanks!
