Hi

I will be travelling with me elderly parents to Prague during Eastern (Good Friday to Eastern Monday). My parents have one concern - what about opening hours for shops like groceries or smaller markets in this period. I will appreciate any comments from those of you leaving in Prague who can advise whether we will be able to buy anything on Saturday or Monday (in catholic Poland everything is dead except for petrol stations, thus my concern).

Thanks

Paulina

I don't think there will be any problems ,Prague relies quite heavily on tourism and all the larger supermatkets and shops will be open though some may have reduced hours,The Easter markets are on in the Old Town Square and other places, all the toursit sites and shops will be open.

I´m pretty sure most markets in the centre will be opened (there´s a Billa in Vodickova street, and a Tesco? right under Debenhams in Vaclavske Square). Also, there are lots of small groceries owned by the Chinese, and they virtually never close.
