Hi Guys,

I'm taking my mum to the Christmas Markets in Prague in the second week of December for 4 days. We are staying at U Tri Bubnu (Three Drums) just off the Old Town Sq as I thought it would be central and reviews seemed to be ok. I have been wandering all over the internet trying to find out what is on event-wise from 8 -12 December but I can't seem to find anything. I would be grateful if anyone can let me know of any concerts, exhibitions, fairs, fetes, etc that will be on around that time. ( The name of a really nice restaurant for bit of mother/daughter bonding would be an added bonus! Unfortunately, we don't drink beer but can slurp up the wine...)

Thanks

You can find some events on the Prague information service web page: http://www.pis.cz/en

Thanks nouza, I did try this site but it only went up to November....I will go back to it later to check December events. I was just windering if anyone knew of anything that was a 'must see' in December that I could book before we went. Maybe I should just go with the flow and see what the hotel recommends. Sometimes it is better to be less 'organised'!

Thanks again.

If you like theater, check the programme of National Theater in Prague - http://www.narodni-divadlo.cz/Default.aspx?jz=en . Also, I guess there will be some Christmas markets at that time. With restaurants - try to avoid the ones just in the city center, sometimes it's better to go one or two street away from the most famous sights and you'll get better food for smaller prices. Enjoy your trip!

Thanks, Barbora17....Went to the site and managed to get to page with 'Programme by months' but couldn't get the December schedule to open up....think I can possibly swear in Polish now tho'! Blooming computers/web sites!

Perhaps you are all sorted out - but if still looking check this out: http://www.classictic.com/en/Search/Czech-Republic/Prague/2008-12-12. Some of the most interesting buildings in Prague are limited access - you can't get inside of them unless you are attending a concert. This was a great source of frustration on my first trip to Prague - but now I have this website to help - plus I like getting the tickets in advance and in English. (The Czech language has far too many consonants for me!)

those two places are a bit expensive but totally worth it. they are across the river from your hotel and have amazing view.

Hi Veronika,

Thanks very much for the web links....my mouth was watering at the menus. We will definitely visit one or two of the Kampa restaurants. They look fantastic. Thanks again.
