I've been looking at various pictures of hotel/BnB beds in Prague and Germany and it looks as if feather pillows are used a lot. I have a real problem sleeping with feather pillows. Do I need a lesson on using a pillow like that? Or perhaps I should travel with a pillow? Thoughts?

Pillows take up valuable space in your backpack, duffel bag or luggage. My suggestion is to leave them at home and learn to sleep on what is provided.

Good luck.

I find I can sleep quite comfortably on a blow up travel pillow which of course takes up minimal space so might be worth considering.

as someone who has stayed in 100's of hotels throughout Europe the only place you get decent pillows are the top end hotels,In Prague ( i visit 2 or 3 times a year) the pillow are usually pretty flat, can't say i have ever had feather pillows.I carry a blow up travel pillows and find 9 times out of 10 that i need to use it., Iolanthe and I obviously have the same view.

If the problem with them is that they're too squishy and don't offer enough neck support- I know what you
are talking about. I either fold the blithers to double up on the thickness, ask for two of them,
or use a rolled up towel under the feather faker
.

Wonder if OP means duvets? Some people have trouble with them falling off the bed

Even less practical to take your own.

Higher grade establishments will have non-allergy pillows, either as standard or on request.

I agree with #3 -- the feather pillows tended to be at the more expensive hotels. I don't remember ever getting a feather pillow that wasn't puffy enough. If it is, request a second one, or fold it in half to double it up.
