Hi,
My husband and I will be spending 5 days in Prague next week. Can anyone recommend an inexpensive (less than $100/night) hotel with private bath in the center of the city? Also any other tips would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Ellen

This one , a personal recomendation, stayed there twice and I would rate it 10 out of 10 for value, location, cleanliness and a damn good breakfast. As for tips only use triple A taxis (AAA), for bars I found the best ones in the Old Town square which is about 5 mins from hotel and if you want an all night club/disco there is a good one right by King Charles bridge. Cant remember the name offhand but it's got 5 floors of music, just ask anyone, you cant miss it.

Check out Hotel Alton. We booked on otel.com and paid in advance which got us a very nice room in July for $116. It should be cheaper now. It not in the center of town but is on a transportation hub (MV Pavola Square) with busses, trams and the Metro and you can get anywhere from here.

it depends what you mean by center. Ive stayed in Prague a couple of time on my travels in europe and both were different.

I first stayed at Hotel Venezia and it was near Wenclas Square, but it was very noisy.

When I returned I stayed at The Castle steps in the center on the other side of the river and this was more tranquil.

I booked the Venezia online but we walked in off the street for the second place and got a good deal.

a hudred dollars is a tough one for the center but im sure last minute deals are around if you have a look around

This cost a bit more than $100 but it's a great place. Hotel Absolut - I can't remember the neighbourhood anymore but it was easy taking the metro to the centre

Ibis Hotels are well located in or near the city centre. Price is no more than 80-90 EUR/double.
