Hello all,
I am looking forward for your advices on good restaurants in Prague. I would like to have authentic Czech food or some Eastern European food.
Which restaurants do you recommend?
Thanks!

seriously you will have no problem getting authentic food, just go into any pub (Hospoda) and you will get some decent food.Hospoda is a pub than serves food as opposed to a Pivince that sell just beer though in later years things have changed and you tend to get great food in many Pivinces as well.
near the city center place like U Medvidku and U Vejvodu are pretty good though they can get pretty busy and have lots of tourists.Depending where you are staying I can make some suggestion.I like U Veverky,Devjicka Sokolovna and Budverky all close to each other in the Dejvicka area of the city, great food and fantastic beer at prices far cheaper than you will pay in the city center.

Hi Craig,
I don't know yet where I am going to stay. I am coming for the Easter weekend so I guess everything will be very expensive. But perhaps you can help me on that one too. I am looking for a hotel which is in an area where are a lot of restaurants and bars but still the hotel is quite. I can pay the most 100 euro per room (2 persons). If you can give me a tip as I know nothing about about Prague.
Thanks for your help.

I recently booked the Hotel Dap in Dejvicka which is near many of the resturabts I already mentiond ,Budvarka is about 100 yards away.I got 3 night B&B for 90 euros in May.It is only about 200 yards from the Dejvika metro and les than that to the tram stops that get you into the city centre in minutes. The Airport bus also stops at Dejvicka.
Prague has a superb public transport system day and night,so being based in this area you can get a cheaper hotel and still have easy access to the city, even late night trams run every 30 minutes ,lots of other hotels in the area.

I used Booking.com to get the Dap but have a look at them ,you can get a map of all the hotels and just hover over different locations and they give you basic details of the hotel and the price for the time you want to book, easter weekend will be pretty expensive but as long as you are close to a public transport link and are not out in the far suburbs you should be fine.Have a look at hotels and make a short list and I might be able to advise of location . how good the transport is and places tp eat,
Are you travelling for a romantic few days or travelling with a friend as hotels that will suit a couple of guys will not be so suitable for a little romantic getaway.

I think for a sort of historical experience, with really good food, Cafe Louvre on Narodni and fair prices. Also, Triton Restaurant in Wencalas Square is quite an experience (although more pricey)
If you want a short list of tips for the city I have made you can visit-- http://www.richtrek.com/2011/05/tips-on-getting-around-prague.html
Hope you have a great trip! Prague is gorgeous. You won't be disappointed.

I will second the Cafe Louvre, the entrance way is not that insopiring but once uo the stairs the place is quite stunning.
