Hi, I have a similar question. I am going to Prague next week for a total of 6 days but arriving on the first in the evening around 7pm and leaving on the last day around 11am, so I really only have 4 days to taste a bit of Prague.

I am staying in Apartments Vlasska in Mala Strana. I am planning to book those airport private transfer/shuttle which costs about 290 kc each way/550kc in return, seems quite a good way of getting between airport/hotel and better than taxi or trying to drag the luggage on the bus/metro?

I just want to know for travel plus lunch and dinner, how much would I need to take with me per day or in total for the 4 days? Planning to visit Charles Bridge, the castle and any other sites you guys would recommend. how much these sites? are most sights within walking distance? if the weather is nice, I don't mind walking around if it's walkable and reachable. will be with a few friends but not sure how fussy they are with food and so will try and rather bring a bit more than bringing too little money with me.

Many thanks for your advice and tips!

would approx 6500 kc be enough for my trip?

where are you geting the 290kc price for an airport transfer? as far as I am aware 550-600kc is standard price one way, I have a friend that runs an airport shuttle service in Prague and 600kc each way is what he charges.
your 6500kc budget for the 4 days should be plenty, just see the posts above for a rough idea of prices for meals etc.

Hi Craig, thanks for your reply.

http://www.prague-airport-transfers.co.uk/pricing.htm

that's the website I am going to book the transport from. I am going for the shuttle one because it's cheaper. for private car service, yes, it is 550 one way. Do you think sharing a shuttle is not a good idea?

I think Lonely Planet has recommended that airport transfer website so I think it's one of the better ones? the reviews on the page look fairly good.

yeah i have heard of them , nothing bad so i think the shared one helps keep costs down.Up until about a year ago Cedaz did a shared shuttle so i think they are taking over the gap they left

I think Cedaz is still being recommended but they only operate between 7.30am to 7pm so I can't really use the service for my arrival. Would you recommend buying one day tickets/3 day tickets for the metro/bus which I could use to go around Prague to visit most of the main sights? I am assuming most sights are reachable by either metro or bus? From what I have read, you only need one ticket and you can use it on bus/metro/tram?

There is a complimentary walking tour by the airport transfer company if I book their service, have you been on one of those tours? Good to join? It starts at the Astronomical clock at the Old Town Square, is it easy to get to from my hotel?

Thanks for your help.
