My wife and me are visiting Prague this year on April. We have planned our visit mostly in central Prague but we want to go around that too. We have a guide from Lonely Planet mentioning cities like Kutna Hora, Terezin, Karlstejn or Fodor's recommending Sternberk and others. Can anybody recommend us at least two places that really worth that a visit?
Thank you very much

Karlstejn and Kutna Hora
Terezin is pretty boring, Cesky Sternberk is a beautiful castle, but not as much as Karlstejn.

Terezin boring ,well thats a new one on me.read the history behind Terezin and then decide if you want to go visit,it is easy to do from Prague with an organised tour (whitman are very good) or you can do it yourself easily enough.
Karlstejn is only 30 minute by train from Prague and again easy enough to do on your own though I think you may have to book a timed tour of the castle (been a while since I was there), it is only really a half day tour and some tour companies combine a viste there with Plzen or Konnoprussy caves, worth looking for tours and seing if thats the type of thing you want to do.
Kutna Hora is a great little place about an hour from Prague, lots of companies do a tour there but again easy enough on your own but if you are on your own you will be doing a fair bit of walking. The Sedlac Osuary (Bone Church) is about a 30 minute walkk from the main town but you can take local buse or taxis ,there is or was a shuttle that ran from the Bone Church to the main town but I don't know if that is still available, but I have walked from the train station to the Bone Church and into the town in both summer and winter without any problem but I am used to walking. Also Kutna Hora is set on a fairly steep hill and you need toi be reasonably mobile to get around.
Another tow I really liked as a day trip from Prague was Tabor, about 90 minute by train,a really lovely place that gets very few english speaking tourists, but a place where you really get made to feel welcome, plenty there to keep you biusy for a day.

Depends on your interests, craigmiller gave a good description of the 'contents'. Castle (Karlstejn) and its location are impressive.
As craigmiller indicates about its history, Terezin is (also) 'worthwhile' as it was a transit camp to Ausschwitz in WWII
Thank you everybody for your help. I have read a lot about all places but a really need your opinion tough. Since we have only 4 days and a half in Prague I think we are going to Karstejn and Terezin this time.
Thank you again!
Mario
If I had to choose one Id go to Kutna Hora, but its up to you.
Would you be so kind to shortly report your experiences here after you come back from your trip!
I`d like to know your opinion about Terezin!
