I'm debating on taking a day trip from Ljubljana to Zagreb on a Sunday. I was hoping to find out if most of the sights, restaraunts and shops are typically open on Sundays.
Thanks.

Hi,

I will be in Croatia with a friend for 10 days during the beginning of September. We will be flying into Dubrovnik and will eventually have to make our way back up to Munich. As 10 days is not so long we will be remaining mostly on the coast. I was hoping to get in a slight mix of big cities, as in Dubrovnik and Pula, and other smaller seaside resorts. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks

  1. Could anyone help me with cheap and cheerful accommodation near Zadar's old town for one night early September? I've been there before, but for longer and wont have time to stay anywhere near the Borik part of town as I'll be off reasonably early the next morning.

  2. For another trip and also starting in Zadar, is it possible to get a bus from Zadar to Bihac in Bosnia & Herz? According to the bus station website it isn't, but just on the off chance. I guess it is easier to get…

Just back from Croatia for a week ( we thought we would have stayed 12 days)
Croatia is extemely expensive 50% more than germany, 30% more than france about same as England.
july and August are seasons months and seem to be ripp off time for all locals.
service is very poor.
it obvious that though tourism is 66% of gnp income of the Croatian state, tourists are not loved appart for they money.
if you don't speak croatian many Croatians won't answer to you ( refuse, English, German, italian or…

Last month my wife and I were travelling in Europe. She being Thai had a Schengen visa. We wanted to travel from Budapest to Venice - both in Schengen countries. Train was the only option. We got tickets for a sleeper.

Five hours out of Budapest, surprise surprise: the train travels through non-Schengen Croatia. The wife and two other Asians travelling on Schengen visas were forced off the train in the middle of the night and in the middle of nowhere. (I went along for the ride.) It took us…

Im inter-railing for a few weeks- starting in Budapest and then onto Croatia. I have about 4 days only in Croatia- is it worth travelling through Bosnia to get to the Southern Islands or are the northern islands equally nice (in which case i would just travel east from Hungry)? What are journey times from the south to the north and what is the recommended transport?

We will be needing a taxi several times on our trip in Croatia. How does it work? Do they have a
taximeter or do you fix the price before hand? Thank you.

hi, I have 5 days off in August (13-18) and was thinking of heading to northern coastal croatia (I've already been to southern croatia a couple of times), probably flying into trieste and bussing down. So far, I was thinking of staying on Rab. does anyone have recommendations for pansions/sobes etc there? Are there grannies offering rooms like in Southern Croatia, or do I need to try to book something in advance?

(I'm 31, female, travelling solo, in search of good beach, good weather, good food…

Really confused...

Is there a ferry from Hvar to Vis? Vis to Dubrovnik? Seems there ought to be but can't for the life of me find anything online...

Leaving from Pescara, Italy to Croatia on 12th am and from Dubrovnik to Spain on the 17th... Thought to ferry Pescara to Hvar, then var to Vis for a 2-3 nights, Vis to Dubrovnik and stay two more. Can someone confirm whether or not this is possible, and if not, whether a ferry from Pescara-Split and Split to Vis, then Vis to Split and a bus from…

Hi all,

Does anyone know of a good company to do a sailing trip along the Croatian coast with? I heard there are trips you can go on that would be similar in style to the group sailing trips you can do around the Whitsundays in Australia i.e.. 18 - 35 age group, lots of partying, stopping off at islands etc.
My friend and I were hoping to book a cheapish last minute trip starting on 2nd August - any advice is much appreciated.

Thanks
Ursula
