Can't bear this bloody rain any longer, but I can't manage a week away until mid-October. I fancy Croatia - but is the wintry weather on its way there by then? I don't usually mind a bit of incelemency, but could do with making up for our crap summer,
thanks,
j

Given the lack of response to your querry, it is obvious how tricky is to make weather predictions for any period - let alone the fall - in any country. If you are intent on making up for your 'crap summer' then Croatia is definitely not a sure bet, since the fall and the spring are when the coast receives most of the rainfall. That said, during those seasons the extended periods of sunny and mild weather are not uncommon and are expected; the only question is are those going to coincide with the timing of your short vacation. Any on line weather site can give you an idea of the air and sea temps and the rainfall for the given month for the location you are interested in.

As #1 said. The weather in October in Croatia can be wonderful, good enough to swim in the sea. Or it can be wet and relatively cool (I wouldn't say "wintry" exactly, it's not likely to be actually cold). No one can say in advance. It's a good time of year to sight-see in Croatia due to smaller crowds, but if you want to spend time on the beach and need a guarantee of good weather it might not be the best choice.
