Split to Zadar - fast!!!

I am planning a trip, whereby i will arrive int he port of split, approx 1200-1300, but then have a flight booked from zadar airport, at about 2200 (will need to be at the airport for about 2000).
Just wondering, does anybody know if this is do-able? Are trains/coaches regular? How far is it, as i could consider hiring a car.

forget car rentals, they wont do 1-ways (drop off somewhere else) and are 99,99% PREarranged, this is not US with Avis at airpts.
BUSES run in now=summertime like ev 30/60 mins, buy ticket before at desk (google up split bustation if youre over-worried) and will take like 3-4 hrs (but now=saturday=high summer) traffic may add considerable to it. Have no idea as to how ZDR airpt sits relaetd to town.
Busst in SPL is just across from harbor where all feries dock.
I think ZDR, being such a tiny airpt, only opens check-in maybe 2 hrs before, but closes like 30 or 40 mins before dep=another hour plus

There is a bus from Zadar bus station to the airport for all departures and you will not need to be at the airport 2 hours beforehand. At worst, Split to Zadar should not be more than 5 hours, leaving you enough time to get your flight.
