Hi guys,

I want to travel from slept to Ljubljana this Sunday and want to find out what is the fastest (apart from flying) and cost effective way to do it. I Dont mindwhat combination of bus ferry or train it is as long as its two or less trips.

The shorter the duration the better obviously. I was hoping to leave between 9-4pm as I am in Croatia for a music festival and I heard it finishes at like 5am Sunday.

I have searched for this and found threads such as http://forum.virtualtourist.com/Ljubljana-688015-6-3470722/travelling-from-split-to-Ljubljana.html but am concerned about its accuracy as it was in 2009.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Regards,

John

There is one direct bus to Ljubljana on Sunday evening but there are many more during the day to Zagreb, from where you can easily get another to your destination.

Rijeka - Ljubljana by train

departure 11:55 arrival 14:50

fare 16.2 EUR

There might be even a direct bus Split -Ljubljana, but I doubt it'll be much cheaper and and it's much more interesting to travel by ship and train. You don't travel by ship often, do you! ;-)

Split - Zagreb 208 kuna

Zagreb - Ljubljana 16 EUR

If you're short of time you could take the night train from Split to Zagreb and arrive to Ljubljana by 9 AM(if you can make the connnection in Zagreb, it's only 23 minute, but it's worth a try if you're in a hurry).
