Hi fellow travelers,
We are thinking of doing a 7 night small ship cruise in June 2016, probably from Split to Dubrovnik. There are quite a few companies and we have whittled it down to croatiatimes travel or sail croatia. Does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions . We are a couple , late 40s that like culture, swimming , sight seeing and food and wine !
Cheers

No experience of it but had a friend who worked for sail croatia and unless they have changed most of their trips are aimed at the younger Aussie market and can be quite raucous.
Hi.
We've taken a couple of overnight boat trips out of Dubrovnik.
We were told to get the cruise locally, rather than booking in advance, which we did.
Plenty of choice from 1 night out to 7, indeed they were right, a fraction of the brochure cost, exactly the same deal & plenty of availability despite both times being in high season peak.

Hi,
We did this kind of trip with my wife this year. We chartered a sailboat with skipper in Split and sailed to Dubrovnik.
IT WAS SOOOOO MUCH FUN! Croatia, sea, weather, boat, skipper, people, places, beaches, ... everything was prefect. We will do this again soon.
We chartered a boat and hire a skipper with www.skippercity.com. Highly recommended.
I am so jealous of you!
Responding..
My trips (x2) out & on the sea in Croatia, departing from Manchester & Glasgow to Dubrovnik were 2011 & 2013.
Hope that's of some help.

So how did you arrange the boat trip locally?
Have you booked it at a local travel agency? Or want to the quay and asked the captains directly?
I booked a sailboat and skipper on www.skippercity.com . They are great yacht charter agency in Croatia. Skipper was so helpful and great - I will hire the same skipper again. You can also charter other types of boats like sailboats, motorboats, wooden boats,...
I think you need to do a booking a bit in advance. Standing in a line on some dock and asking captains might not get you a boat (if that is even possible).
My booking and trip looked somehow like this:
- in January I contacted www.skippercity.com and explained them what I am looking for
- they sent me a couple of boat offers
- I selected a boat.... This one: http://goo.gl/uj3fw1
- payed 50% of deposit, payed the rest 5 weeks before departure
- meet with skipper on departure day, embarked the boat and off we were
Somewhere along upper plan was itinerary planing, flight planing, food planing,...
Hope that helps.
