Rijeka to Plitvice Lakes

We did this only 4 weeks ago. Unfortunately our flight from Bristol was delayed so we ended up missing our bus connection at Karlovac (1600). The 1600 bus from Karlovac is the second last bus to Plitvice, the next bus after that is at 2300. There are more buses from Zagreb, we ended up continuing onto Zagreb for a few hours and getting the 2200 bus to Plitvice. We stayed at Plitvice for 2 nights (1 whole day) and then got the 0845 bus to Zadar (which continues to Sibenik and Split). If you are going to visit Plitvice, make sure you start from entrance 2 as all the tour groups start at entrance 1. This means that you end up passing the tour groups at the boat connection about the time they are all having their lunch.

Hope this is useful. The times above are about the time of the buses, I can't remember the exact times of every bus.

If you’re getting buses around Croatia you need to keep in mind that most buses leave in the morning and there aren't many in the afternoon, so do your travelling in the AM.
