Hi there,
I'm planning our trip to croatia at the end of the month. Due to our timing of our flights and ferry schedule I basically have either 5 full day to explore Dubrovnik and surroundings (I want to amongst others a trip to Kotor) and 3 days for Hvar or the other way around, i.e. 3 days dubrovnik and 5 days Hvar. What would you advice (my wife is pregnant, i.e. we can't do any hiking etc and it will be rather on the ralxing side of travelling)

I lean towards 5 days dubrovnik and 3 days Hvar, would you agree?

thanks

Your wife being pregnant doesn't prevent hiking. It just means that it can't be strenuous hiking that would raise her heart rate. In fact, walking or hiking is recommended exercise for pregnant women. So pick your hiking trails without too much elevation change and you'll all be fine.

A day trip to Kotor Bay is basically impossible by public transport because of the bus schedule so you'll either need to rent a car or reconsider this.

Personally, if you can afford to rent a car, I would spend 2 nights in Dubrovnik and a couple of nights in the Kotor Bay area and perhaps a couple of nights on an island. If not, consider day trips from Dubrovnik as it is worth one full day and not much more since the crowds from the ships fill the streets making it less than relaxing.

Late June and Croatia's almost certain 25c plus temperatures then would likely not be particularly agreeable to a pregnant lady and hiking.

I would consider the Hvar for five days and Dubrovnik for three option based upon the info provided.

Hi Griesi,

I'm in the same situation now you were in a year ago.
I have booked accommodation based on 3 days in Dubrovnik and 5 in Hvar. Can you share you experience please to help? Saves us creating a redundant topic..

Did you take the Catamaran? I heard they sell before 9 a.m. on the day! No prebooking...
In Hvar, we booked accommodation in Milna (as was recommended by a few travellers)..

Pls share...

Many thanks,
N
