we are two girls planning to do some island-hopping/camping holidays throughout July. We will head to Dalmatia on Sunday, and probably sleep somewhere around Zadar... Does anyone have any recommendations for campsites or is even there and would like to meet up somewhere for a beer...?
Plus is it easy to take a car onto the islands?

Try looking for zaton camping 15 min from zadar. Great camping for everybody. Going there myself on friday :)

Just back from a two week camping holiday in Croatia, but only as far north as Split so cannot help with the Zadar bit. However, found this site quite useful : http://www.camping.hr. Also every tourist office we went to, even in the smallest of towns, had a list of campsites in the area. But, if you have a car, this makes things a lot easier - there are so many smaller campsites down the coast which aren't listed, you will find it hard to drive more than 15 minutes without finding one.
I don't know which islands you are planning to go to, but there are fewer campsites generally speaking - again, the tourist offices always had a list with map and directions. The only thing I would say is that it is quite expensive to take your car on the ferries, and even in the last week of June, the queues to get on the ferries were starting to get quite long. We sat with a cold beer (or two) once watching while cars were queuing 2 hours before the ferry departed - just something to bear in mind and probably just people being very over-cautious! This said, I would definitely hire a car next time, and the cost of taking it on the ferry is offset by the overpriced bus fares we experienced on the islands, not to mention the obvious flexibility.
