Hi,
Also, are there really only 2 buses from Trieste to Rijeka on 30-07-07, the first being at 17.30?
thanks again

Possibly, I don't know if that is a holiday in IT, SLO or CRO.
The following website says there are 5 a day. here. Or here.
The best thing to do if the former were the case and buses were not operating to the above timetable is to take the first bus to Croatia (to Pula, Rovinj or Porec, at 9am) and then take a bus from there to Rijeka. Here is the timetable.
Where did you read that this was the first bus at 17.30 (possibly the Autotrans site - that is the daily bus to Dubrovnik) ? Ring the bus station in Trieste - they speak English (and Italian, and sometimes Croatian/Slovene....) 0039 040 425020.
The Autotrans site only shows Autotrans buses. There may be additional SAF ones, or buses from other companies.

Yes I got that from the Autotrans site, I will check will the station, thanks very much for the help :-)
In June, when I was there, there were buses on this route at 8:30 and 12:30 on weekdays. According to the timetable in the bus station, in the high season there's also a bus at 10:30. (There were also buses in the afternoon.)

If you need to break your journey at Pula: Another bus company Brioni Pula do buses on the Trieste-Pula route. Since 13 July (new summer timetable)the Trieste-Pula depatures are at 1400, 1615, 1800 and 1930 - but if it's a Sunday, only the 1800 runs.
Their website (in Croatian) gives a contact number 00 385 (0)60 30 40 90. Don't know how much English will be spoken there, but I'm sure they speak Italian.
Once you're in Pula, there's usually a Rijeka bus every 2 hours or so, then it's 2 hours from Pula to Rijeka once you're on the bus. However, there are fewer buses in the late evening: if you can, I'd take the 1400 bus to give yourself the most options once you're in Pula. (I think the Pula-Rijeka buses were 1830 or 2030 when I was there last year.)
As far as I remember, there are more buses from Trieste to Rijeka than to Pula. A direct bus would be faster anyway.

Am attending the Outlook festival in Pula 1-4 September and have managed to work out how to get by train to RIJEKA on 31.08.11...there dont seem to be any train links to Pula, therefore, does anyone know if there is a bus from RIJAKA TO PULA? Or if not, what would be an alternative route from VENICE TO PULA?
