Does anyone know if Ryanair or Easyjet have daily flights from Gatwick to Split and/or Dubrovnik?
If not, do you know on what days they fly?
I have tried looking on their websites, but their schedules for June isn't posted yet.
My fiance and I are going to Croatia, next year June from our honeymoon. We are flying from Johannesburg, South Africa, and the ticket prices are really ridiculous!
Our best bet looks like catching a flight to Gatwick and from Gatwick boarding a budget econo carrier to either Split or Dubrovnik.

look at their websites: if they dont fly this season, small chance they will next year. neither has done so-nor is likely to do so. on a few dozen sites, like whichbudget, flybudget, skyscanner, harefares, swoodoo, airninja etc. you can check for who flies where -on the cheap-or not so.
RYAN does not fly into LGW at all-they just offered to buy their ''homehub'' LST=stansted. From there they serve Zadar in Hrvatska. Doing LGW-LST is NOT at all cheap-this is UK-takes much longer as the flight and will likely also cost more as the flight..........
Due to stark rises in fuel and general economic downturn-all budget fligths are in limbo and expect more curtailments soon-hence they wont ''publish'' any new timings a long time advance.
BTW; als u suidafrikkaans ben, vliegen via Duitsland is mogelijk veel goedkoper-vandaar af is Hrvatska veel populairder. goeje reis daarbij.

Have you looked at www.whichbudget.com and www.flycheapo.com
Flights to Croatia didn't seem particularly cheap this year. We paid £200 return (including all fees) with Thomsonfly from Manchester to Dubrovnik.

Easyjet and BA should do an early morning Split flight (they have for a number of years now). It is possible it may be every day of the year for both but you will have to wait particularly since routes are being closed because of the current travel environment and fuel costs. I don't understand 'neither has done so-nor is likely to do so' from #2, easyjet did and still does. Ryanair uses Gatwick for Irish flights and did for Paris as well. I flew to Split from LGW in September last year, £100 all incl return. A BA flight from LGW was only slightly more expensive. You may have to wait a bit.

There will be no schedule information until the new year and with economic downturn you should probably wait until then to book the London leg as well.

From Gatwick, you should be able to find a somewhat affordable ticket on BA. We're flying there this weekend. It's not as cheap as a budget carrier, but with myself, my wife and our child, it was the most convenient and affordable combination, without taking a connection somewhere else.
