On my map, there is a nice yellow line border by a green line (scenic route) through the Neum corridor parallel and slightly north of Croatian highway 8 on the coast. It goes through a few kilometers of Bosnia in the Neum corridor. My map shows Badzula in Croatia (coming from Metkovic) and then Duzi in Bosnia and then back to Croatia again -- just a few kilometers. Unfortunately, the immigration post is on the coast. This road continues parallel to highway 8 all the way to Slano. Question: Can I pass through this little part of Bosnia without being turned back by the authorities due to a lack of an authorized immigration post?

If you don't have authorized immigration post, how can you prove that you entered Bosnia near Neum corridor?

When I checked your map on Google maps Streetview, there was Bosnian and Croatian police officer together on the last possible stop. In white uniform is Bosnian and in blue uniform is Croatian. So I would say there could be some police on the border. :)

If you still need information, I can call tomorrow Croatian border post near Neum and ask them how to do this crossing, I think there is possibility that they allow you crossing with making border crossing stamps before heading to this nice scenic route.

Cro-backpacker, I appreciate your response. In fact, I did part of that route, passing by a little lake (on the Croatian side, but I forget the name) and heading over some mountains and I came out on the coast just near the Croatian customs just north of Neum. I then went and rode along the coast to Dubrovnik, which was also fantastic for scenery. The road is busy, but not threatening on a bicycle. It is a much better bicycle ride headed south than north because you ride on the side of the road with the views towards the sea. By the way, the road headed south out of Dubrovnik is absolutely hell on a bicycle. It is very narrow and it has a LOT of fast moving traffic and trucks. I only had to do a few kilometers on this road, and then I headed toward Trebnje in Bosnia. Any cyclists should actually take an alternate route which leaves from near the cruise ship terminal in Dubrovnik.
