Hi everybody,

has anybody dived with one of the divecenters located on Tofo Beach and Barra Beach (diversityscuba, Tofo scuba, Barra Diving..) and could recommend which one is best? I will go there for 1 week of diving in Nov. 2008.

And if you also can recommend an accomodation close to the divecenter (low- to mid-budget), preferably a hut/casita/room on the beachfront - that would be perfect!

Thanks in advance,
Cheers,
Elke

I have just started my one year trip in India. I plan on completing my Divemaster certification in the Andaman Islands probably around October/November. After this I was hoping to do a liveaboard in the Maldives, but after the recent Baani Adventurer incident I'm considering going elsewhere. Any suggestions? After India I will be spending the rest of the year in Eastern Africa.

Cheers!
Jen

I am looking for the perfect mix for me and my new bride. I want to take her to 1 or two places on our honeymoon that would accomplish the following:

Great Beaches
High End Service and Luxury
Not Too Crowed
Phenomenal warm water diving
Culture nearby
Great food
Romantic

Any suggestions that would fill all of those would be very helpful. I was looking into taking her to Truk, but found that flights back can take up to two days... Don't mind traveling for a long time, but thought we could start our…

We will be spending our honeymoon in Ko Tao in May 2009, during which my fiance will be getting his Open Water 1 certification. I am already certified so I will be diving as well.

I've been researching resorts online and the Thipwimarn Resort (http://www.thipwimarnresort.com/) looks simply lovely. I'm normally the budget-backpacker type of traveler, but I thought we might stay somewhere more upmarket for the honeymoon, and this place looks like a good candidate.

However, I'm trying to…

My wife, daughter (aged 10 at the time) and I stayed a week at "Buddy's Dive Resort" on Bonaire last November and it was a great place for our needs. They gave us a one bedroom apartment with a sofa bed in the living room and a full kitchenette. It included plenty of diving (boat and shore), a rental truck for the week and activities for the kid so that we could dive while she learned to snorkel, etc.

All this for $1,000.00 per adult for 8 days and 7 nights.

Are there any other comparable…

Hello all. I am looking for diving recommendations in SE Asia that also offer great opportunities for snorkling for non-divers. I am planning a trip that will include divers (max 50 dives) and non-divers (but enthusiastic snorklers). Timing is likely between Oct-Dec. Thanks much!

PS - We've already done the Similans so would like someplace else...other destinations in Thailand, Philippines, Malayasia, Indonesia are all possibilities.

I'm planning to be at the Great Barrier Reef at the end of August, and one of my "bucket list" goals is to get in some diving. I am a total amateur, having dived exactly one time right off the beaches of Honolulu several years ago. Any recommendations for dive companies and itineraries? I plan to do a day trip dive, as I am limited by budget. Thanks!

The ideal vacation would be to travel to a place where we could combine both our passions, the hiking/trekking and the snorkeling. The hiking can be anywhere from day hikes to few week 's long trek and the snorkeling from 1-3 weeks.
Is there such paradise ?
