Diving & Snorkelling

Hello,
I have a quick question about diving insurance. Do I need it? I will be making my first dives (already PADI certified) next week in Malaysia and as of yet haven't purchased any insurance. Is this something I can/should buy at the diveshop before I start diving? Is it purchased per dive or annually? I plan on doing about 25 dives over the next month. Is DAN the best insurance company to use?

Does anyone know if there is a free diving club or free dive tour operator in Galapagos, Ecuador?

I know there have been some restrictions on scuba diving recently but I wonder if these apply to free diving?

My husband and I are interested in going diving in Cuba. We are staying in Varadero so if there are any reputable companies that you can recommend that would be great, even if they take you out on day trips that is fine. I know the consensus is the Cuba is not the best place to dive and I have dove in many great places (Fiji, Australia, Red sea, mexico) but we still would like to dive, heard their are some nice shipwrecks or even diving with whale sharks. Any names of companies would be great.

I am visiting friends in Kuwait early December, and I would like to make a few dives of possible, I am a PADI Rescue diver.
What would the water temperature be like? What are the nicest places to dive? And can anyone recommend a good diving school? I have found a few on the internet, but recommendations would be nice!

We are going to Egypt for about two weeks next wednesday, wishing to do a liveabord trip including Thistlegorm, Ras Mohammed, ev, Tiran. I am travelling around Thailand in December in January and would like to finally attend a diving school and get a diving certificate. Not a teacher certificate, just the diving course. I've wanted to do this for years but somehow never managed..
Anyhow, I have heard that most diving schools are located in Ko Tao and my travel buddy also desperately wants to go back to Ko Lipe.
Hence my question if someone here can recommend a diving school in either KoTao or KoLipe to a total scuba…

Hi all!

I finally decided to buy my equipment in Phuket (thx for all advice!)
Now I was told that I should get DAN asia insurance but when I surfed their website (www.danasiapacific.org) I can't find any professional insurance? Am I stupid or is there another site, they seem to have several of them and it makes me confused.

I'm currently a divemaster so I don't feel like I need anything fancy, just basic cover and also insurance for the equipment.
