Has anyone been diving out from Wadi Lahmi? Thinking about doing it this spring. Any information of interest; divingconditions, divesenter, livingoptions, etc. pro and cons on going there. The alternativ is liveaboard for aprox a week. Wanted to go to Sudan, but too expencive this time around.

If you could go anywhere in the world to start your training for a career in scuba where would you go? For years I've been a avid snorkeler and last month in Mexico I finally got my PADI Open Water. Since I was a kid I have loved the water and snorkeling but now I think I'm truly falling in love with scuba. This is still just an idea that I'm rolling around in my head. I'm off to Austrailia in april and wanted to dive on the Barrier Reef. I have no dive experience as of yet but I will be staying at a dive school in Thailand, I was just wondering what sort of experience would be necessary for diving on the reef!

Has anyone tried any of the Liquid Image underwater scuba mask/cam setups? I am specifically looking at the HD Video cam -- I like the idea of getting decent quality video without looking through a viewfinder......but I'm not experienced to know if it's just too gimmicky. Any thoughts or opinions would be greatly appreciated . . .

Hello.
I'm thinking about taking a liveaboard safari trip this september. Having been on several safaris around Sinai, I'm wondering about what's going on down south. I gather that the places to be are Brothers Islands or St Johns Reef. Does anyone have experience of safaris at either of these, any reccomendations / advice??

Where are the best spots in Southern Europe for snorkeling? Any ideas? I've heard about Formentera, Sardinia, some beaches in Provence and Dubrovnik area but I'd like to hear other opinions.

I was wondering what people do with their valuables when they go snorkeling?
On our last trip to Indonesia we rented a motorbike and found some excellent snorkeling spots, but were reduced to going out in shifts because we had no where to safely store the camera and cash.
I was thinking a waterproof bag to put valuables in & take out with us - like this one

in the beginning of april.
i read quite some information about this area, but there are some saying that
this former "paradise" has been totally messed up by dynamite fishing and huge crawlers doing netfishing just
1 mile of the nature resort. is that true or are these just the usual "in former days everything was better" complaints ??
