Hi all, I am consdering to visit the Red sea area in September to look for work in the dive industry. I am currently a Divemaster, I have my own equipment. i would welcome any suggestions or opinions from anybody who has previous experience in this area. I would feel more at home in an area that is not a large resort and am not only focusing on Egypt/Sinai. other countries in the region are equally appealing. Do you feel It would be possble to take an Instructor course while working for a centre to keep the price down? Also I speak English/Spanish fluent but a number of languages I am, lets say....beginner/intermediate. Would the ability to speak/instruct in other languages help my cause greatly? And if so,which ones?...Thanks for reading this post.Your time is appreciated.
peace

Hiya! I will say straight out that I am not a diver of your qualifications, but I do know a lot about the dive industry, having lots of friends in this industry, and also having lived by the Red Sea for two years. Have you considered Dahab for your purposes? It is a laid back town on the Gulf of Aqaba, South Sinai, Egypt. For most dive courses it is possible to work at the dive center and get the course for a discounted price. In Dahab there are only a few dive centres that offer the IDC course. Theses include:
Poseidon - www.poseidondivers.com (you need the Mashraba centre)
Sinai Divers - www.sinaidivers.com (backpackers dive centre)
Desert Divers - www.desert-divers.com
The ability to speak more than one language is definitely an advantage. The other languages that are big in Dahab are French and German. You would most likely be able to find plenty of work as a dive master as well.
Hope this helps some!
