Hi,

I'm off to Sabah and Sarawak next week. I will diving off Sipadan but I am interested in seeing Whale sharks and I'm not sure how likely that is there. I've heard that Langkayan is good but I can only find expensive stays on the island when I was hoping to do it in a day. Can anyone advise?

My boyfriend was lucky enough to see a whale shark last year at Sipadan, but it doesn't happen very often. There's a video here: YouTube

It's more likely in Kota Kinabalu or Lankayan, but only certain times of the year, don't remember when.
