I was in Thailand recently and got my open water (and advanced) through SSI. My worry is diving places around the world say they want to see PADI, will they accept SSI?? what is the difference surely they must be almost identical? I will be diving in Honduras in a few weeks and i hope it won't be a problem.

Can anyone think of a situation where SSI wouldn't be accepted?

Any word back would be great cheers

SSI is accepted worldwide.

Did you not check before you did the course?

You should have no problem at all. There are even a couple of SSI-affiliated dive operators on Utila island, if that's where you plan to go.

You will have no problem weather you choose a PADI or SSI affiliated dive centre.
