Yes, I know. I was trying to be gentle in offering the updated information. :-)

QS is definitely now back operating in the Similans

For about one month already QS is moored at Chalong pier, not doing anything.

Nevertheless, Steve, the trips are definitely scheduled and are on offer. The first three sailings were discounted to boost bookings. I do hope they can get back on their feet after having canceled an entire Raja Ampat season and having brought the vessel back to Phuket in the middle of the Andaman Sea season--it can't be easy. She's a very good boat, and I'd like to see her regain her former success.

Yes, good boat, but at the moment not going out. Very doubtful any of her trips will be going, so I would not recommend to book her right now. Also no crew or dive staff, let alone good divestaff.

There is another liveaboard boat in the Phuket area that does week long trips in the Similans, Richelieu Rock etc. It is Marco Polo+ from Sea-Bees Diving. The boat is basic (no +en suite facilities) but very clean, well maintained and the dive guides know their stuff. It was great fun the last time I went in 2006 and AFAIK it is still running.

Yes, MP is an option but would not be on top of my list. For longer trips I would recommend Oktavia, Giamani or Nautica. Or consder 4 days Similans etc., and a shorter trip (preferably 3 days) to the Southern divesites like Hin Daeng, Koh Haa, Bida Islands etc.

guys thanks for all the suggestions, really appreciated!

Unfortunately despite all the help I left the whole thing too late and it just didn't work out this time so I've decided to head out to the Philippines for some diving instead but not a live-aboard...not to worry just gives me something to look forward to next time!

Thanks again for all the suggestions and advice!
