Hi. I've been considering all the different options for a similan/richelieu liveaboard and I think I've settled on Manta Queen II, mainly because everything I've read about them sounds positive, it fits with my dates and the price is excellent.
Has anybody out there been on the Manta Queen II? Have I made a good decision?!
Thanks very much for any help!

(I've posted this on the Thailand branch too.)

Manta Queen and Manta Queen II are both basic boats, but offer excellent value for money. Plus on the pro side they both also offer Nitrox.

Thanks very much for your help! Your posts on liveaboards are very helpful.

The only other boat that's caught my eye and fits with my dates is the daranee, would you recommend that above manta queen II?

No, Daranee is a bit more expensive than the Manta Queens (a lot more expensive for the quad cabins), and IMO Manta Queens offer more value. Take the price into consideration as well, and the Manta Queens are easily better.

I have been on the MQ and absolutely loved it, actually will be diving again on the MQ mid December. From my experiences last time, I found them to have great food, very professional and knowledgable DM's and a great respect for the corals and such. The staff was phenominal and a great value. HAve fun

I went on the 4 day liveaboard to the Similans and Richilieu Rock with them. Over the long run, the number of dives we did with the crew were a great deal. The boat is quite roomy also and the KSA has great respect for nature, which is something I appreciate. Enjoy! Another little note, if you are looking for other options. Sea Dragon is another GREAT outfit. I did my first liveaboard with them and absolutely loved it! They're more expensive though...
