Hi all,

I'll be landing in Sharm just after 4pm (touch wood) on the 2nd and will be heading straight to Dahab to dive dive dive!

As a solo, fairly compos mentis albeit blonde, female I'd be grateful for any advice you may have about best way to go about getting from the airport to Dahab.

I've heard dealing with taxis outside the airport is understandably mayhem for the uninitiated! (I'm fondly recalling 30 min haggling sessions outside Marrakech.) I would certainly consider busing it but looks like given the timetable looks like I'd have to wait hours at the bus station for the next one.

Some have said 120-150LE is a realistic tourist taxi price to Dahab if you're determined. Is this about right? Seems bit steep but hey! The DC kindly offered to pick me up for 35 euro each way but they can take a hike!

Any recs and advice is greatly appreciated or certainly anyone arriving at the same time who's keen to share a taxi, just let me know!

Cheers,
April

Get in touch with Mustafa at the Pearl of South Hotel and they'll pick you up for 150LE. It's a great budget place to stay where you'll be safe & well looked after. (+2) 069 3641755 pearlofsouth@gmail.com

For diving you speak to Mohammed Ali at Big Blue, they truly are one of the best places I have dived with and I can't say enough nice things about them. If you stay at Pearl of South ask them to take you there & as their guest you get 15% off you diving.

I was in Dahab in Jan and loved it!! Hope you have a great time. Say Hi to them all from Linda (one of the sisters from Sweden).
Have your dinner at The Tree one night & hug Jasmina the cat from me!!!!

Hi

I'm arriving on the 8th - also solo female traveller, so good to know there's others in the same boat! Pity it's not the same day as I'd gladly share a taxi.

I'm currently trying to decide what to do re transfer and accomodation too. Wondering whether to book a couple of nights and then take it from there.
