I am going to Malaysia i April and my son and I are planning to do a PADI open water course in the PErhentians. Which dive company would you recommend. We are doing a PADI referral course at home so we only have do to the dives.

Is it true as written in the lonely planet Malaysia guide that they don't accept credit cards. I wouldn't like to have to bring that much cash.

There are many good reliable divningoperations on the Perhentian islands, but my personal experience is with the Watercolores on Besar. Well-run operation, very friendly staff, exellent food and safe diving. They do one of the best dive-briefs I have experienced, and make new divers very aware of the under-water enviroment. They also used to have "reef-talks" that was free for everybody, about life on the reefs and what you could see down there, fish-behaviour etc. They do accept creditcards. I did my open-water with them many years ago, and went back with some friends that did the same. We have no complaints! Enjoy, you will have an excellent time!

I paid for my diving in the perhentians by credit card! It is not fun to take that much cash over!

I've used Alu Alu twice now. Great dive centre. Boats all have O2. Equipment is in good condition.
