Location for two week holiday including diving, from Europe, but not Egypt

Hi All,

I am trying to find a suitable location for a great holiday with diving potential, but beach and relaxation included for the most part. My girlfriend and I went to Sharm last year and the diving was fantastic, shame about the general vibe of Sharm itself, wouldn't really fancy it again a second year in a row. We'd like to go from Europe and have a medium budget, so not Maldives for instance, but would like somewhere exotic and with the potential for some good value eats and accommodation if possible. I guess £1,000-1,500 for a two week holiday, with flights, accommodation, diving and everything else.

Please give me your suggestions!

Roatan/Honduras could be nice. Not sure about current flight deals.

Is that per person or total???

Perentians in Malaysia perhaps, Pulau weh although i struggle with the good food, how bout Lanzarote/Canaries..... If you're goign to do the long flight, then might as well do Indonesia...... but again, is that per person or combined. ????

Hey there D,

Not sure if you have dates set yet?

Phuket, Thailand would be a good choice from November to May for diving in the Similan Islands and the northern sites. The Thai food is fantastic and there are lots of choices of where to stay so you can be on the beach relaxing or partying.

The locals are pretty friendly too.

Well if you dive, you should watch Air Asia (Stansted) carefully because I got 3 return flights to Malaysia for under £900 (£290 each) .
From there, either dive in wonderful Malaysia or jet further and cheaply with Air Asia to Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Borneo.
Think CHEAP when you get here, more for flight (although £290 is cheaper than Sharm)?
I have dived in the Red Sea and find the Egyptians a pain in the ass. although the diving is really nice!
Consider old Spain? I have dived a lot at the Medes Islands of the coast of Gerona, Costa Brava?
