Hello all,

I ended up buying the scuba mask/HD video camera that I asked about the other day to no avail . . . . and now I'm contemplating buy a side-torch (light). The light snaps onto the side of the mask. From what I read, it seems like the extra light would brighten up images under water and help me get more accurate (and beautiful) pictures of the colors. But then I got to wondering if the light would be too intrusive - I don't want something that is going to be bothersome to our underwater friends. Any thoughts?

In order to get a decent picture you will need to get really close up to most of the fish and I don't think that a side mounted torch will be of much impact to the fish but it will enhance your pictures.

Thanks for your help - I really appreciate it. If I may ask a second question . . . . the torch that goes with this mask sells for $89. Is it worth it to get something that mounts to the mask and keeps my hands free, or should I pick up a cheaper hand-held underwater LED torch (like a flashlight?). It looks like the prices of those range from pretty cheap to $50 or $60. Should I save a few bucks and go that route or get the one that mounts on the mask? (it swivels in different directions if that makes a difference). Thanks again for the help!

The mounted one seems to make more sense.
