I am a first time diver and would like to dive in the Red Sea while I am in Egypt. It looks like Dahab is the best place to start. Does anyone recommend a certain dive school? I am assuming a 4-day open water PADI certification course is best? Is there any benefit to doing the classroom portion online, or does it just add cost? Thanks!

I can't recommend a dive school in Dahab but it would definitely be a good place to learn.

I can absolutely recommend doing the classroom/theory work online before you go on holiday. this will probably save you 1-2 days of your holiday. Several friends have done it this way. Who wants to spend their holiday studying dive books? Much nicer to spend those days diving. For me doing the classroom work online as opposed to in the resort is a no-brainer. I'm not sure if it increases the cost, but even if it did, I would still go for the online learning option.

Try Desert Divers. they are big and reliable. Many others just as good, but this is one that is trusthworthy.
